Last week the FISU delegation visited Split ahead of the upcoming FISU World University Sailing Championship.

The delegation first visited the city centre – the place where the championship opening ceremony will be held, and then they walked through Diocletian’s Cellars.

Then they went to one of the most beautiful parts of Split – the west coast. On the west coast, they enjoyed the most spectacular view of Split and learned which Split athletes have won Olympic medals, thereby promoting their city around the world. Along the promenade by the sea, bronze plaques were placed bearing the names and surnames of the Olympic medalists, the year and city of the Olympics, the type of medal, and a stylised representation of the sport.

Then, at the Mornar Sailing Club, they inspected the club premises and infrastructure that will be used, and on Sustipan they enjoyed the view and took photos.

The inevitable stop was the Bruno Bušić Student Dormitory, where participants and volunteers will be accommodated, and then they toured the premises of the Croatian Rowing Club Gusar

Behind the doors of the conference hall in the Bruno Bušić Student Dormitory, details were discussed that would make the championship unforgettable and worth remembering.
