Five country set for the medal battle at the FISU World University Championship Sailing

News 2 October 2026

After four days of competition, the finalists have been decided

The FISU World University Championship Sailing will bring together university sailors from several nations for a competitive battle on the sea, with Italy, Croatia, Poland, Norway and Austria among the teams set to compete for the medals. Representing their universities and countries, the sailors will face a demanding championship in which every race and every point can play an important role in the final standings.

Italy, Croatia, Poland, Norway and Austria will all be aiming to secure a place on the podium as the championship progresses. With the medal positions at stake, the competition is expected to remain open until the final races.

For the sailors, the championship represents an opportunity to compete at the international university level, test themselves against athletes from other countries and contribute to their teams’ overall results. The racecourse will provide the setting for a closely contested championship, where consistency, decision-making and performance across the races will be important factors in the final classification.

The medal battle is ready to begin, with Italy, Croatia, Poland, Norway and Austria set to fight for their place on the podium.
